Espen Jorstad Wins the 3rd WCOOP Title of His Career

Espen Jorstad is no stranger to coming out on top of large-field events, with the GTO Wizard ambassador most notable for his triumph in the $10,000 Main Event World Championship at the 2022 World Series of Poker.

That being said, he has no problem applying his trade online in smaller field events, as rather than the 8,663-strong field he bested four years ago, he overcame 154 players in WCOOP 02-H: $1,050 PKO Warm-Up to earn his third career WCOOP title.

Under the alias “SamSolverel”, Jorstad secured a $14,359 score for the win, as well as $18,891 accrued in bounties along the way for a total of $33,250. Having missed out on a victory last year, the Norwegian pro adds to his wins in 2023 and 2024 in one of the very first events, leaving him plenty of time to add to his tally across the rest of the series, which runs through to September 30.

Heads-Up Play

He overcame Finnish player realsuhisjii in heads-up play, coming back from a four-to-one chip deficit to secure the trophy as well as the $30k score. Also at the final table, Austrian player Leonard “Grozzorg” Maue scored a combined total of $5,759 for his 6th-placed finish and bounties, with Brazilian Joao “Jbiancoloni” Biancolini unable to add to his countries impressive five victories already this year, as he finished eighth for $4,727.
