A 19-year-old from Riverdale, Maryland, has won a life-changing prize, scooping a $4.2-million jackpot.
The teenager, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the lottery that he plays only occasionally and did not expect a seven-figure prize to land their way.
Playing the Multi-Match lottery game, the winner bought their ticket from the Town Center Market on Queensbury Road. He said that he didn’t realize he might have won until he read on the Lottery website that a ticket was sold where he bought his.
The venue has now been awarded a $4,200 bonus, while the teenager had this to share with the lottery:
“I was dumbfounded. I just kept checking. I was like, ‘Wow!’,” the winner said. While he will remain anonymous, the payout is a significant way to boost his way of life from a young age.
While information about the kid was scarce, there are a few other details that have emerged in reporting. For one, the teen is an electrician’s apprentice from Riverdale and has already shared some of his plans for the future.
He intends to stay on his current career path while also using the money to secure his financial future, buy a home, and not worry about paying a mortgage.
