Jamul Casino Resort has named Chris Kelley as its first Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning the hospitality, gaming and entertainment sectors.
In his new role, Kelley will be responsible for Jamul Casino Resort’s operations and strategic expansion. He will also collaborate with the Board of the Jamul Indian Village Development Corporation on developing economic and Tribal interests beyond the existing enterprise.
Kelley joins the San Diego resort after serving as President of Hard Rock Casino Tejon, where he oversaw the opening of what is touted as the largest private hospitality investment in Kern County history.
His career includes senior positions with major hospitality and entertainment companies, as well as experience managing gaming properties through new openings, operational expansion, and strategic transformation.
Before his time at Hard Rock, Kelley was President & COO of MGM Resorts International Northeast Group, where he was responsible for MGM Springfield in Springfield, Massachusetts, and Empire City in Yonkers, New York. He also previously held several other executive roles at MGM Resorts, including President & COO of MGM Northfield Park and CFO of MGM Detroit.
Kelley started his career in San Diego, taking on multiple leadership roles at Viejas Casino & Resort, including CFO and General Manager. His experience there provided him with extensive knowledge of the Southern California gaming and hospitality market.

Kelley earned bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science from Connecticut College and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
