SiGMA moves Rome exhibition to May 2027 amid industry feedback

SiGMA Group will move its SiGMA World 2027 event in Rome to May, following feedback from clients, exhibitors and industry partners seeking a more balanced European gaming event calendar.

The change aims to establish approximately four-month intervals between the three major gaming European events in Rome, Barcelona and Lisbon, giving businesses more time to prepare, plan budgets, engage with clients and maximise returns on participation.

SiGMA Group Founder Eman Pulis said the decision was made in response to industry feedback.

“We have listened and taken the bold decision to move our show to May. We’ve taken this decision in the best interest of the industry,” Pulis said.

The move is part of the group’s wider effort to reduce event fatigue and create a more predictable calendar for the global gaming industry. SiGMA Group said better spacing between major conferences and exhibitions would benefit exhibitors, sponsors, delegates and other industry participants.

According to SiGMA, clients and partners had called for more time to prepare for events and gain greater value from their participation. It aims to ensure that each summit remains a major industry occasion rather than another date in an increasingly crowded calendar.

The move to May will also allow SiGMA Group to take advantage of more favourable weather conditions and expand the outdoor footprint of its Rome event.

The organiser plans to triple its outdoor presence in 2027, adding space for networking, entertainment, hospitality and community experiences.

The expanded format is intended to bring business and entertainment together on a larger scale, creating a festival atmosphere for attendees.

The Rome schedule change forms part of a broader strategy to improve the positioning and commercial value of SiGMA Group’s international events.

The company said it wants to create conditions for stronger attendance, better networking opportunities and greater commercial impact rather than add more dates to an already crowded industry calendar.

SiGMA Group is also reviewing the timing of other international events on its 2027 World Tour to ensure they align with market developments and industry demand.
