Scientific Games Welcomes Dan Flynn as CEO, Kevin Schneider Transitions to Chair Role

Scientific Games, an international provider of lottery games, technology, analytics and services to government-sponsored lotteries, announced a major C-suite appointment. As it turns out, the company has welcomed the experienced Dan Flynn as its permanent chief executive officer, replacing its current interim one.

Flynn Becomes the Company’s New CEO

Scientific Games announced on November 5 that Dan Flynn has been appointed as its new CEO, effective November 2. Flynn replaces Kevin Schneider, who has served as interim CEO since September 2026.

Schneider was named interim CEO following the resignation of Pat McHugh earlier this year. The latter executive stepped down from the role on September 8, assuming the position of vice chairman of the company.

As a result of the changes, Schneider will now assume the role of board chair.

In the meantime, Scientific Games described its new CEO as someone with three decades of business and leadership experience spanning global operations, enterprise technology and strategic transformation.

Before joining Scientific Games, Flynn served as chief transformation officer of CDK Global, a Brookfield portfolio company and provider of integrated technology solutions for automotive retailers. Flynn has had two tenures at CDK Global, the first of which spanned from 2016 to 2019 and saw him lead its software and hardware delivery organizations and businesses serving state and municipal customers.

Officials Trust Flynn to Capitalize on Growth Opportunities

Officials commented on the appointment, with Schneider hailing Flynn’s arrival and praising his operational and technology leadership. According to Schneider, the appointee’s operational and technology leadership experience makes him a perfect fit for the company and will allow the business to build on its momentum and capitalize on growth opportunities.

Together, we will help our customers meet evolving player expectations and succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Flynn was similarly pleased about the opportunity, saying that the new role aligns closely with his experience. He added that he is looking forward to leveraging this experience to help Scientific Games achieve new successes.

Together, we will build on the company’s achievements, support our employees’ development and strengthen the capabilities needed for future growth. Our focus will be on delivering the games, technology and services that help lotteries achieve their objectives and responsibly grow funding for good causes.
