Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Opens After $200M Transformation

Caesars Entertainment has officially launched Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, completing a multi-year redevelopment of the former Harveys Lake Tahoe property and introducing a reimagined resort destination on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe.

The grand opening celebration took place on July 7 and marked the conclusion of a renovation project valued at $200 million. Company executives, employees, partners and invited guests gathered at the property to commemorate the milestone, which transforms one of the region’s longest-standing casino resorts into a new flagship destination within the Caesars portfolio.

During the event, Caesars Entertainment President and Chief Operating Officer Anthony Carano joined Senior Vice President and General Manager Karie Hall and television personality and restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump for a ribbon-cutting ceremony held inside the newly redesigned resort lobby. Guests attended a champagne reception before festivities continued throughout the property.

“Caesars Republic was just a dream six years ago. We just acquired Caesars Entertainment and we knew we had something truly special here in Lake Tahoe,” Carano said in a company press release. “But we also knew that if we were going to do this project, we had to go above and beyond to set a new standard in luxury.”

Former Harveys Property Receives Extensive Upgrades

The opening concludes a phased redevelopment of the historic Harveys Lake Tahoe property, which has operated for more than eight decades. Caesars has repositioned the resort under the Caesars Republic brand while introducing updated accommodations, expanded amenities and redesigned entertainment offerings.

The transformed property now features renovated guest rooms, a fully refreshed casino floor and new hospitality concepts throughout the resort. Gaming facilities include updated slot machines, table games, a renovated Caesars Sportsbook and redesigned high-limit and poker areas.

Dining and nightlife options play a significant role in the property’s new identity. Guests can visit WOLF by Vanderpump, Gordon Ramsay’s HELL’S KITCHEN and The Sage Room, alongside several newly introduced lounges and bars. Among the additions are Tessie’s Cocktails & Chords, Cleo’s Coffee and Cocktails, Centro and Celeste.

Vanderpump, who partnered with Caesars on WOLF by Vanderpump at the resort in 2024, also addressed attendees during the opening celebration.

“It was something I wanted Lake Tahoe to feel really proud of,” Vanderpump said while discussing the restaurant before participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Additional upgrades include the High Dive Pool and Lounge, which offers a heated swimming pool, hot tubs and cabanas. Caesars has also added expanded meeting and event facilities, including a 25,000-square-foot indoor event space and a modern fitness center.

New Chapter for Caesars’ Tahoe Operations

Following the ribbon-cutting, guests gathered at Tessie’s Cocktails & Chords, where live performances by Tahoe Tommy and Pier Pressure highlighted the evening’s entertainment. The venue served as the centerpiece of post-ceremony celebrations, combining live music with cocktail service and immersive experiences.

As part of the evening, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe presented a $10,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. Hall invited Gary Carano, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Caesars Entertainment, to join the presentation.

The newly branded resort remains physically connected to Harrah’s Lake Tahoe through an internal connector, allowing guests to access amenities across both properties. Together, the two resorts offer nearly 1,250 guest rooms and a broad range of dining, gaming and entertainment options.

The location also serves as a gateway to year-round outdoor recreation, sitting on the Nevada-California border near beaches, lake activities, golf courses and Heavenly Mountain Resort.

Caesars Expands Regional Resort Portfolio

Company executives view the completion of Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe as an important addition to Caesars Entertainment’s broader regional resort strategy. The operator has recently invested in several markets outside Las Vegas, including developments in New Orleans and Danville, Virginia.

Speaking about the newly opened property, Carano said: “With Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, we set out to create something truly distinctive for this market. An experience that blends the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada with the energy and innovation our guests expect.”

Hall also emphasized the effort to modernize the destination while preserving its long-standing appeal.

“Our vision was to take everything guests have loved about this destination for decades and revitalize it through a more modern, design-forward lens,” Hall said. “The result is a resort that feels vibrant, elevated and unmistakably Tahoe, whether you’re here for the views, the dining or the moments you can’t get anywhere else.”

With the completion of the $200 million redevelopment, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe now stands as the company’s newest resort destination in the Sierra Nevada region, combining a refreshed casino experience, expanded entertainment offerings and upgraded hospitality facilities under the Caesars Republic brand.
