The Plaza Hotel & Casino has opened a new high-limit slots room in downtown Las Vegas, adding a dedicated space for players seeking larger wagers and premium slot experiences.
Located on the casino floor, the 2,000-square-foot room occupies the former Brightside Breakfast & Burgers site and includes 53 slot machines. The new area features Acres Cashless Gaming technology across all machines, allowing guests to use electronic payment options such as Apple Pay.
The facility includes a dedicated concierge desk, lounge seating, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, and personalized guest services. Members of the Plaza Players Club can also complete hotel check-ins from the new room, while casino hosts can assist with dining reservations, room upgrades, pool cabana bookings, and local recommendations.
Plaza Focuses on Premium Slot Experience
Plaza Hotel & Casino CEO Jonathan Jossel said the new room was designed to combine higher-limit gaming with additional service options.
“With the new High Limit Slots Room, we wanted to not only provide the newest and most popular games with higher limits but also focus on personalized customer service, such as hotel check-in and a dedicated concierge desk,” Jossel said.
Jossel added that demand from higher-end slot players contributed to the decision to create the new area.
“The Plaza continues to diversify its offerings to meet the changing needs of our guests. We specifically have seen our slots business continue to grow as we are welcoming more higher-end players, and many of our longstanding guests have asked for this gaming amenity.”
The room’s interior combines classic Las Vegas design elements with modern features, including dark finishes, gold Art Deco details, and upgraded seating. The space can also be adapted for private events, with areas for food and beverage service and sports viewing.
The slot machines support unattended jackpot processing, which allows qualifying payouts to be handled without direct staff involvement. The system is intended to reduce delays for players who frequently reach reporting thresholds through higher-value bets.
“If you’re betting $250 a spin, you’re hitting $2,000 potentially very frequently,” Jossel said.
Federal reporting requirements for jackpots continue to apply when applicable.
New Addition Part of Wider Plaza Improvements
The high-limit slots room follows several recent additions at the Plaza as the downtown property continues updating its guest offerings.
Recent changes include the outdoor Carousel Bar, PinkBox Doughnuts, no-smoking gaming sections, and the addition of Hogs & Heifers Saloon Bar after it moved from its previous downtown location in 2025.
The Plaza also reinstated its all-inclusive room package for summer 2026 after receiving positive feedback when it was introduced in 2024. The offer, available from June 1 through August 31, includes early check-in, waived resort fees, drinks at selected bars, and meals from several dining outlets, with rates beginning at $104 per person per night.
The new high-limit room is located adjacent to the table games area and operates from 10am to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and from 10am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
According to Poker News, to mark the launch, the Plaza partnered with social media influencer Travel Ruby for a $10,000 slot tournament scheduled for August 28-29.
Players who earn 1,000 slot points on August 29 will also receive an entry into a drawing for a Virgin Cruise Experience for two.
The Plaza said additional expansion plans remain ahead, including new food and beverage concepts. The opening of the high-limit slots room represents the latest step in the casino’s efforts to attract more premium gaming customers in downtown Las Vegas.
