Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has successfully dismantled a sophisticated online gambling and money-laundering operation, resulting in the arrest of 12 individuals and the seizure of assets exceeding THB13 million ($388,000). The operation, conducted across Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and Tak provinces, focused on a platform called All Game 248, which reportedly accepted bets on the FIFA World Cup 2026 alongside other gambling products.
Deputy CCIB Commissioners Pol. Maj. Gen. Chatchapantakan Klaikhlueng and Pol. Maj. Gen. Thinnakorn Rangmat led a press briefing in Muang Thong Thani, detailing the scope of the investigation. According to Asia Gaming Brief, officers said the network operated for approximately 18 months and maintained thousands of active members, including school and university students, as well as members of the general public.
Complex Financial Operations Exposed
Investigators highlighted that the organization had developed a highly structured system to process illicit funds. According to Pol. Maj. Gen. Kritach Bamrungrattanayot, CCIB 4 commander, “Financial checks over the previous three months showed turnover of about THB1 billion ($29.9 million) per month.”
The network allegedly employed more than 200 mule accounts to circulate funds, each handling between THB10 million ($299,000) and THB100 million ($3 million) monthly. Investigators also identified over 20 accounts directly linked to the primary suspects. Authorities stated that illegal payment gateways, corporate-registered mule accounts, and the involvement of foreign nationals were used to complicate the tracing of funds. The syndicate’s operations were organized regionally, with administrators managing separate areas to maintain control over financial flows.
One of the key suspects, a 35-year-old former secretary to a provincial administrative organization president, was reported to have played a central role in converting cash into cryptocurrency, transferring it to wallets controlled by senior network beneficiaries. Authorities estimated that the network converted at least THB500 million ($14.9 million) into digital assets each month.
Coordinated Raids Lead to Seizures and Arrests
Law enforcement executed search warrants at five locations, including luxury homes in Bangna-Trad, Muang Samut Prakan, and Thung Khru, as well as a condominium in Samrong Nuea and a house in Mae Sot near the Myanmar border. These raids yielded approximately THB3 million ($89,600) in cash, 20 bank passbooks, numerous electronic devices, and a frozen sum of THB10 million ($299,000). Among the arrested were cash couriers, individuals managing mule accounts, and those responsible for company-registered accounts. Courts had issued arrest warrants for 15 individuals, with three suspects remaining at large.
The detainees face charges of providing electronic gambling without authorization, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and money laundering. CCIB authorities are coordinating with the Anti-Money Laundering Office to trace financial flows and identify the network’s main beneficiaries.
The operation forms part of Thailand’s nationwide push against illegal betting during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, directed under the guidance of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Justice Minister Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruthaphon Naowarat. Police Commissioner-General Pol. Gen. Kitrat Panphet has ordered intensified enforcement to curb unauthorized gambling activities and related financial crimes.
Investigators emphasized that the network used complex layering techniques to conceal gambling deposits, temporarily holding funds before distributing profits to beneficiaries. The involvement of foreign nationals and regional managers allowed the syndicate to maintain operations across multiple provinces while evading detection.
Authorities confirmed that the platform had processed more than THB1 billion monthly over recent months. The case underscores Thailand’s ongoing commitment to combating illegal gambling and sophisticated financial crimes, particularly during high-profile sporting events like the FIFA World Cup.
