Argentina: PlayUzu launches iGaming operations in the city of Buenos Aires

Industry

PlayUzu, an online casino developed by SkillOnNet, has begun operations in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, after obtaining its license from the city’s gaming authority (LOTBA).

The online casino has partnered for the license with local land-based gaming operator BuenosAiresSlots, which currently owns three gaming halls in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires and has exclusive rights to operate slots and bingos in two districts of the city.

The association is part of the regulatory needs that iGaming operators have in Buenos Aires, where each licensee must collaborate with a local gaming operator. Argentina’s gaming legislation is divided into 23 provincial jurisdictions plus the City of Buenos Aires, each of them being authorized to establish their regulations on online gaming. The Argentine capital is among the regions that have already implemented the online modality.

This operation is part of the expansion plan in Latin America of PlayUzu, a sister site of PlayOJO, also belonging to SkillOnNet. This strategy had already started with a digital and TV campaign in Mexico.

Sergio Revilla of BuenosAiresSlots said about this alliance: “We were cautious about choosing an online partner, but we knew we had found the right one when we started looking at PlayUZU. In addition, they take localization very seriously and offer a gaming experience tailored to the city of Buenos Aires.”

For her part, Helena Rico of PlayUzu commented: “This marks an important milestone for our company and we are excited to expand our business into a new market. BuenosAiresSlots is a recognized and respected name, and we look forward to growing the PlayUzu brand in the region and exploring opportunities together”.
