Resort operators in Las Vegas are turning to prize incentive programs, including the chance to win luxury cars, to motivate their staff to work during the upcoming Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend.

Caesars Entertainment and The Venetian are employing substantial cash prizes and incentives for employees who attend their scheduled or on-call shifts during the race week, according to internal communications retrieved by Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The Venetian’s “Race to the Finish giveaway” program boasts cash prizes ranging from $500 to $10,000, with a grand prize offering of a new Tesla Model 3 or a $25,000 cash alternative. The eligibility criterion for hourly Venetian workers includes working every scheduled or on-call shift between Sunday night and the night of Monday, Nov. 20.

It is incredibly important for us to show our gratitude and appreciation to our team members after a year of hard work, commitment, flexibility, and patience,” a spokesperson for The Venetian told Review-Journal on Wednesday. “We want the prizes and experiences for our team members to be over-the-top and reflect the same excitement that our guests will enjoy during this iconic week in Las Vegas.”

Meanwhile, Caesars has also launched a similar program offering rewards such as spa and restaurant comps on its properties. However, the company didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment after the Review-Journal sought clarification, and a YouTube video outlining the program was made private following the inquiry.

In the video shared by Caesars, regional president Sean McBurney elaborated on the prizes and encouraged staff to deliver exceptional service during the race weekend, showcasing the grand prize, a 2024 BMW X3.

With the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix just around the corner, resorts, hotels, and restaurants are gearing up for what promises to be a major sporting event in the gambling mecca’s calendar.
