Circa Hotel & Casino adds 49 rooms in Las Vegas expansion

Circa Hotel & Casino has added 49 hotel rooms across two floors as part of a multiyear expansion plan for the downtown Las Vegas property.

The new rooms occupy the resort’s 49th and 50th floors and are scheduled to open September 1, nearly six years after Circa launched with seven hotel floors left for future development, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

“We just don’t have enough keys down here. That’s the reality,” Circa co-owner and CEO Derek Stevens told the Review-Journal.

The expansion was part of Circa’s original phased development plan. The resort initially opened in 2020 with seven hotel floors shelved for future development before adding four floors of standard rooms.

“We had a multiphase plan,” Stevens said. “This was always part of the plan.” He said the company waited to assess which room types would be most in demand before completing additional floors.

The new floors feature upgraded finishes and amenities, including new furnishings in the standard king rooms, higher-end lighting fixtures and wall paneling. Circa is calling the new floors its “platinum floors,” with rooms including upgraded standard king rooms, studio suites and one-bedroom suites with an option to connect to a second room.

The expansion also introduces the Founders Entourage Suite, featuring two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a half-bath, a large living room, wet bar and multiple televisions. The suites also include Murphy beds and can accommodate up to 10 people.

Stevens said the suites are designed for groups such as bachelor and bachelorette parties, large families, and reunions. “It’s a pretty special hotel room,” he said.

The expansion comes as Las Vegas faces ongoing discussions over visitation, hotel prices, and changing tourist expectations. However, Stevens said Circa remains confident in demand for additional rooms. “We’re sold out every weekend, and we’ve been booked every weekend for the last three years,” he explained.

The limited room supply has also created competition among Circa’s casino hosts, Stevens said.

The new rooms are scheduled to open ahead of football season, a key period for the sports-focused property.

“We’re going to be going into what’s going to be a record-setting football contest,” Stevens said. “So that brings in a lot of demand. I expect to have a record-setting football season.”

Stevens said Las Vegas has also evolved into a destination increasingly driven by sports, concerts, conventions and other experiences, rather than primarily by low-cost hotels and food. He added that Circa’s new rooms are designed to meet the needs of changing Las Vegas visitors.

The addition marks another step in Circa’s gradual buildout since its 2020 opening. The hotel tower now has one unfinished floor, with the 15th floor currently used for overflow during large-scale events or as an indoor event space.

The casino said there are no immediate plans to develop the remaining unfinished floor.
