Fanatics Sports & Casino has extended its FAIR PLAY Max player injury protection program to cover all four quarters of NFL and NBA games throughout the season, with automatic coverage for eligible player prop bets at no additional charge.
Under the expanded policy, customers whose selected players leave a game because of injury and do not return can receive their stake back or compensation in FanCash, depending on when the injury occurs. The protection applies to eligible single bets and parlays, with different settlement procedures for injuries occurring before and after halftime.
For injuries sustained during the second half, compensation is issued in FanCash after the game concludes. If the affected wager is part of a parlay containing unsettled selections, the FanCash credit is processed after all remaining legs have been settled.
FanCash is the company’s rewards currency, which customers can use across several Fanatics businesses, including official merchandise, trading cards, game tickets, Lids stores and sportsbook wagers. Customers can also earn up to 10% back in FanCash on bets, regardless of whether those wagers win or lose.

The expansion follows Fanatics’ introduction of its original player injury protection program in 2024. The company says it was the first sportsbook to introduce such coverage and subsequently became the first to provide both first-half and second-half injury protection without an additional fee.
The latest initiative, announced under the FAIR PLAY Max Pledge, extends that protection across every NFL and NBA game for the entire season. According to Fanatics, competing sportsbooks either charge customers for comparable protection or restrict coverage to injuries occurring before halftime.
The company said the expanded coverage is available to all customers without requiring activation, promotional tokens, or enrollment. Eligible player prop wagers receive the protection automatically.
When an injured player does not return before halftime, the affected selection is voided immediately. For single bets, the original stake is returned, while parlays continue with the remaining selections. The same underlying injury protection applies during the third and fourth quarters, although compensation for second-half injuries is provided through FanCash rather than an immediate settlement.
“At Fanatics, everything we build starts with making the fan experience better,” said Ted Moss, President, Sportsbook at Fanatics Betting and Gaming. “We were the first in the industry to launch player injury protection with FAIR PLAY™, and now we’re the first to cover the whole game at no charge to the customer.
“If your player goes down in the second half, you get FanCash back — it’s your way into everything Fanatics offers, from tickets and merch to cards and your next bet.”
The FAIR PLAY Max Pledge establishes four conditions for the program: protection across all four quarters of NFL and NBA games, no additional fees, availability to every customer, and coverage throughout the full season. Fanatics maintains that its full-game protection is the only sportsbook offering of its kind available without charge for the entire NFL and NBA seasons.
