Fighters from seven Latin American countries will compete for their national teams on October 4 in Quito, where HYPE Fighting stages its first regional event under a “country vs. country” format.
Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, Chile, Peru and Brazil will each send athletes to the General Rumiñahui Coliseum in the Ecuadorian capital. Every participating nation will bring its own fighters and fan base to the event, and spectators can back their preferred competitors through predictions.
Betting operator 1xBet is the main sponsor and main partner of the show, which is HYPE Fighting’s first event on the South American continent.
The program lists 15 fights with 30 athletes. Up-and-coming fighters will open the night on the preliminary card, where they will compete for a chance to move into the sport’s elite. The main card will follow with the more established names on the lineup.
Marlon “Chito” Vera will meet UFC Hall of Famer Jose Aldo in the main event, which is a submission-only bout. The two fighters first faced each other in 2020, and the rematch takes place almost six years later.
In another matchup, former UFC title challenger Colby Covington will face Mayton Perea, a local fighter and new addition to the UFC roster. The bout gives Perea the opportunity to compete in front of his home crowd.
1xBet has prepared a promotion for combat sports fans in Latin America in connection with the event. Customers who enter the code HYPELATAM will receive a 100% bonus on their first deposit.
The operator said it encourages people over 18 to gamble responsibly.
