Former gaming CEO Gavin Isaacs takes advisory seat on GLI board

Gaming industry executive Gavin Isaacs has joined the Board of Directors of Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) in an advisory position. His formal appointment is subject to regulatory review and approval.

Isaacs has served as a CEO and board director and has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the global gaming, iGaming, sports betting, and lottery industries.

During his career, he has overseen strategic mergers and acquisitions totaling more than $10 billion. He has also delivered shareholder value through organic expansion and through company turnarounds.

His work has covered public and private businesses, which range from multi-billion-dollar global enterprises to startups.

He remains active as a strategic advisor, investor, and board member in the gaming and interactive entertainment sectors.

The Casino Management Association named Isaacs Gaming Professional of the Year in 2004. He later received the International Gaming Awards Outstanding Contribution Award in 2017 and the AGEM Jens Halle Memorial Award in 2018. In 2022, the American Gaming Association inducted him into its Hall of Fame.

“I am excited to join the Board of GLI as it embarks on its next stage of growth. I look forward to working with James Maida and CVC as we build upon the incredible business built by James and his team over the past 37 years,” Isaacs said.

In his latest role, Isaacs will work with GLI President & CEO James Maida and with investment firm CVC, which is represented by Alexander Heerkens Thijssen, Matt Turner and Zach Kelly.

“I am thrilled that Gavin is joining the GLI board. The board and I as CEO have ambitious plans that will further propel GLI globally over the next several years, and Gavin’s decades of experience, vision, and history of innovation make him a perfect partner as we move forward,” Maida said.

GLI and CVC announced a strategic partnership in June to support GLI’s continued growth and long-term development. CVC completed its investment in GLI and related entities through Strategic Opportunities, the firm’s long-duration investment platform.
