The Global Gaming Expo (G2E), presented by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and organized by RX, has announced a bonus main stage session focused on a united front against prediction markets on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The session, titled “A United Front: Confronting Prediction Markets Together,” will take place at 1 p.m., with doors opening at 12:45 p.m. It will bring together gaming, union, and congressional leaders to discuss the impact of prediction markets on the state- and tribal-regulated gaming industry.
AGA President and CEO Bill Miller will moderate the session, which will feature UNITE HERE President Gwen Mills, Mashantucket Pequot Chairman Rodney Butler, and Rep. Steven Horsford.
“Collaboration both across and beyond the industry is critically important in preserving and protecting the state- and tribal-regulated gaming market, its employees, consumers, and the communities we serve,” Miller said. “In the midst of ‘prediction markets’ brazen encroachment, our panel of leaders will showcase the strength of our unity.”
The session will address the impact of prediction markets on state and tribal gaming, as well as legal, political, and public policy strategies and collective action to protect gaming, sovereignty, and regulatory authority.
“UNITE HERE, the Tribal gaming industry, and the commercial gaming industry are standing side-by-side in a campaign to end illegal prediction market gambling. This is a pivotal moment to come together as a coalition to face an unprecedented challenge. Prediction markets are threatening the livelihoods of casino workers throughout the country,” Mills said.
“Our members are casino housekeepers, bartenders, servers, cooks, and dishwashers. Together with responsible gaming employers, we have built a union standard with high wages, access to affordable health insurance, and the ability to retire with dignity. We are now united for a common goal – upholding Tribal, state, and federal law and protecting jobs.”
Horsford said Nevada’s gaming regulations provide a model for the industry and criticized prediction markets’ approach to sports betting and casino-style gambling.
“Nevada set the gold standard for gaming regulations. Prediction markets are gambling dressed up as innovation. They are exploiting our youth, threatening Nevada’s hospitality jobs, and gutting the integrity that keeps the gaming industry honest. That’s exactly why Nevada fought back,” Horsford said.
“My bipartisan Prediction Markets Are Gambling Act stops federally regulated trading platforms from hiding sports betting and casino-style gambling behind the label of ‘financial products.’ You don’t get to claim the benefits of the gaming industry without playing by its rules.”
G2E had previously announced its main stage programming for Sept. 29 and 30. Tuesday’s schedule includes Miller’s keynote, a CEO panel moderated by CNBC’s Contessa Brewer and a conversation with Wayne Gretzky and BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. On Wednesday, Global Gaming Women will host activist Elizabeth Smart for a discussion on resilience in the workplace.
G2E’s education lineup features more than 100 sessions and over 300 speakers. The 2026 event will run from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, with more than 25,000 industry professionals from over 120 countries, regions, and territories and nearly 400 exhibitors expected to attend.
