Gemini and Apex Fintech Solutions have signed a letter of intent to expand the distribution of Gemini’s regulated crypto prediction markets to brokerage customers, the companies said.
Under the planned deal, Gemini Titan, a subsidiary of cryptocurrency platform Gemini, would become the exclusive CFTC-regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant (FCM).
Brokerages using Apex’s FCM would use Gemini for execution and clearing, allowing them to offer crypto event contracts without building their own connections to a prediction-market exchange.
The partnership would also give Apex the flexibility to work with Gemini on sports, economic, and financial-market contracts on a non-exclusive basis.
“We believe that predictions are the future of markets, and this strategy allows us to expand our offering and open access to valued partners like Apex as demand for event contracts grows,” Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss said.
Gemini has been building the regulatory infrastructure for its prediction-market business. Gemini Titan received a Designated Contract Market license from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in December 2025, allowing it to operate a regulated derivatives exchange and offer prediction trading.
In April, Gemini subsidiary Gemini Olympus received a CFTC Derivatives Clearing Organization license, enabling the company to bring clearing and settlement for Gemini Titan in-house.
“Leveraging more than a decade of experience building and operating a regulated platform for crypto, a new and emergent asset class, we deliberately chose to build our predictions platform in-house,” Winklevoss said.
Prediction markets have grown rapidly, with monthly trading volume on leading platforms Kalshi and Polymarket reaching nearly $24 billion by April, up from less than $5 billion in September 2025, according to Pew Research Center. Sports, politics and cryptocurrency have emerged as major categories.
The planned collaboration builds on an existing relationship between Gemini and Apex. In July, Gemini launched commission-free stock trading for certain U.S. customers, with Apex Clearing Corp. acting as custodian and clearing broker.
“This partnership with Gemini is about building the bridge between traditional finance and what’s next,” Travis McGhee, Global Head of Digital Markets at Apex Fintech Solutions, said. “Our brokerage clients get regulated access to crypto event contracts without having to build the plumbing themselves.”
The companies expect to finalize the details of the collaboration in the coming weeks.
Gemini has also been expanding its prediction-market technology, launching an AI-powered Command Center in May that provides market summaries, sentiment analysis and personalized signals within its app.
