ICE Barcelona will launch a revamped content programme in 2027, featuring a new invite-only C-suite event and a reworked conference focused on business-critical issues facing the gaming industry.
The WorldGaming Council will debut as an invite-only Chatham House event capped at 350 attendees. It will bring together legislators, regulators, government authorities, C-suite operators, sports governing bodies, leagues, and major technology and social media platforms.
“The dynamic format will move between thought leadership, open debate, boardroom-style strategy sessions, and bilateral meetings, prioritising decision-making and actionable solutions,” WorldGaming Managing Director Stuart Hunter said. “The Council will play a pivotal role in helping to shape the industry narrative leading to real outcomes.”
Topics will include combating the black market, expanding emerging jurisdictions, player protection, sustainable taxation, market integrity, and the regulation and deployment of AI, new technologies, and gaming verticals.
“The Council’s boardroom model and curated workshops are specifically designed to move beyond passive attendance, encouraging participants to commit to actionable outcomes,” said Hunter.
Meanwhile, the ICE Conference will focus on translating the Council’s discussions into practical insights for operators, technology solution vendors, advisory, legal, consultancy, and professional service providers, as well as directors and teams across commercial strategy, marketing, product, platform and compliance.
The conference will use panels, briefings, case studies, and workshops to examine how businesses can turn policy developments into operational growth, with an emphasis on peer-to-peer learning.
Hunter said the new content strategy was shaped by market feedback and the challenges facing the gaming industry.
“Our function is to serve the evolving needs of the gaming industry, and the WorldGaming Council and the ICE Conference programme have both been designed to reflect the requirements of today’s integrated and diversified operator,” he added.
ICE Barcelona will also introduce a single all-access ICE Conference pass as part of an effort to simplify the attendee experience, said Hunter. Regulator and C-level content will be available through an invite-only, paid application-based model operating under Chatham House rules and focused on key industry personas.
ICE Barcelona ’27 is scheduled to take place in January 2027.
