Lottery enthusiasts across the nation are eagerly eyeing their tickets as the jackpots for both Powerball and Mega Millions continue to swell. The multistate lotteries are climbing the charts once again, with combined multistate lottery jackpots past the $1 billion mark.

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing continues to climb, now worth an estimated $485 million after there was no jackpot winner in Monday’s drawing.

Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot is well past the half-billion-dollar mark for the first time in a year. The next drawing on Tuesday, March 5, offers an estimated $650 million with a cash option of $308.6 million.

Mega Millions is the only lottery game to have awarded five different jackpots worth more than $1 billion: two in 2023 and one each in 2018, 2021 and 2022. A new Mega Millions record jackpot was set Aug. 8 with a $1.602 billion prize won in Florida.
