The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has added 18 individuals to its Involuntary Exclusion Lists, bringing the total number of people on the Board’s various exclusion lists to 1,481.
Placement on an Involuntary Exclusion List bars an individual from gambling at a Pennsylvania casino, through an online betting site regulated by the Board or at a Video Gaming Terminal location.
Four of the latest cases involved adults who left minors unattended at casino properties while gambling. The remaining 14 individuals were placed on the Involuntary Casino Exclusion List for various actions. The matters were presented by the Board’s Offices of Chief Counsel and Enforcement Counsel.
One female patron left a 10-year-old in a vehicle in the parking lot of Live! Casino Philadelphia for three hours and eight minutes while she played slot machines. Another female patron left three children, ages 8, 9, and 13, in a hotel room at Mount Airy Casino Resort for one hour and 48 minutes while she gambled at table games.
At Valley Forge Casino Resort, a female patron left two children, ages 8 and 13, in a vehicle in the parking lot for 52 minutes while participating in various forms of gambling. A male patron left a 12-year-old in a vehicle in the parking lot of Hollywood Casino York for 30 minutes while he played slot machines.
Adults are prohibited from leaving minors unattended in casino parking lots or garages, hotels and other areas of casino properties because doing so may create unsafe and dangerous conditions for children. The Board established the “Don’t Gamble with Kids” awareness campaign, available at DontGamblewithKids.org, to supplement efforts by casinos to address the issue.
The Gaming Control Board is scheduled to meet next at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, in its Public Hearing Room on the second floor of the Strawberry Square Complex in Harrisburg.
