PrizePicks names Anthony Edwards its first NBA brand ambassador in multi-year deal

PrizePicks has signed Anthony Edwards to a multi-year partnership that makes the four-time NBA All-Star the first NBA player to serve in a brand ambassador role for the Atlanta-based sports entertainment company.

Edwards, a former No. 1 overall pick, will be a face of the PrizePicks brand, and he will appear prominently in the company’s major advertising and social media campaigns. PrizePicks said the collaboration supports its commitment to engaging basketball fans.

“We are honored to welcome one of the biggest stars in all of sports to the PrizePicks family,” said Joey Molko, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at PrizePicks. “Anthony has a unique ability to command the spotlight, but what makes him truly special is his authenticity and the way he connects with fans.”

“This partnership is such a natural fit because he embodies the boldness and personality of our PrizePicks community,” he added.

A second Atlanta name in the campaign lineup

PrizePicks recently extended its partnership with comedian Druski, who will pair with Edwards in upcoming brand campaigns and other featured content.

According to PrizePicks, the two agreements reaffirm its investment in athlete- and creator-driven entertainment for fans nationwide. Edwards and Druski both come from Atlanta, which is also home to PrizePicks.

“Teaming up with PrizePicks feels like an Atlanta homecoming, and I couldn’t be more excited to join the squad,” said Anthony Edwards. “The ‘Run Your Game’ energy is what I’m all about, and I can’t wait for people to see everything we’re cooking up together.”

PrizePicks and Edwards kicked off the partnership with a skit that responds to a widely seen viral video from one of Edwards’ biggest basketball rivals.

That clip poked fun at Edwards’ signature shoes. In reply, the PrizePicks skit delivers a purple colorway of his newly released AE3s to a crowd of fans in Minnesota. PrizePicks players also received early access to the purple AE3s on the PrizePicks app in connection with the launch.

Production work beyond the ad campaigns

The agreement also covers a collaboration with Three Fifths Media, a media production company created by Edwards and Justin Holland, co-founder of AE5 Enterprises. Holland will join PrizePicks in the role of strategic advisor for the partnership.

The first joint project is the satirical Believe That Awards. PrizePicks will be the event’s presenting sponsor, and it will offer a free-to-play game that gives players a chance to win cash and a pair of autographed AE3 shoes.

PrizePicks will also contribute to Don’t Follow the Wave, Edwards’ nonprofit foundation. The support will go toward the charity’s workplace development efforts.
