ProphetX and Players’ Lounge launch CFTC-regulated sports prediction markets

ProphetX and Players’ Lounge have partnered to launch federally regulated sports prediction markets on the Players’ Lounge platform.

The integration gives Players’ Lounge users access to ProphetX’s prediction market exchange, where they can trade event contracts covering NFL games, NBA player props, tournament brackets, championship futures, international soccer, and other sports. The markets operate on ProphetX’s infrastructure as a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)-regulated designated contract market (DCM) and derivatives clearing organisation (DCO).

Unlike traditional sportsbooks, ProphetX functions as an exchange where users buy and sell contracts directly, with market participants determining prices instead of a bookmaker setting odds.

ProphetX Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer Jake Benzaquen said the partnership brings exchange-based prediction markets to Players’ Lounge’s community of competitive gamers and sports fans.

“That community deserves access to the most competitive, transparent markets on the planet — and that’s exactly what ProphetX provides,” Benzaquen said. “This isn’t sports betting dressed up in new clothes. It’s a federal exchange where the crowd sets the price and every participant is on a level playing field.”

Players’ Lounge CEO Austin Woolridge said the integration aligns with the platform’s focus on skill-based competition by offering users a regulated marketplace to trade on sports outcomes.

Prediction markets on ProphetX are a perfect fit for what Players’ Lounge is all about: putting your knowledge to work in a fair, skill-driven environment,” Woolridge commented. “We’re excited to give our community a regulated, exchange-based way to trade on the games they care about most.”

The companies said the partnership comes as prediction markets gain traction in the US following recent regulatory developments and integrations by financial and gaming platforms. They noted Kalshi’s landmark court victory establishing federal CFTC oversight and the rapid succession of Robinhood, Coinbase, PrizePicks, and Webull launching prediction market integrations as factors driving growth in the sector.

Players’ Lounge, which launched in 2016, has processed more than $250 million in skill-based gaming wagers and serves players across titles including Madden NFL, NBA 2K, Call of Duty, and Fortnite.

Prediction market trading is now available to eligible users in supported US jurisdictions following Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. The companies said additional products and markets will be introduced ahead of the upcoming NFL season.
