Resorts World New York City opens high-limit gaming room as $5.5 billion expansion advances

Resorts World New York City (RWNYC) has opened a 13,657-square-foot high-limit gaming area, adding 48 table games and three private gaming salons as the Queens casino continues developing its $5.5 billion integrated resort project.

The new International Room, unveiled on Oct. 22 at an event attended by Queens-born rapper Nas, marks a major expansion of the property’s gaming and hospitality facilities during its 15th anniversary year.

The opening follows the July groundbreaking of Phase II of the integrated resort development, which is planned to include a 7,000-seat arena, 2,000 hotel rooms, dozens of bars and restaurants, and 11 acres of green space. Construction began less than seven months after RWNYC opened as New York City’s first and only full-fledged casino.

The latest addition is accompanied by an expansion of the casino’s first-floor gaming operations, with 57 additional table games and 147 slot machines being introduced. These additions will bring the property’s total gaming inventory to nearly 300 live table games and more than 4,000 slot machines.

“We are extremely proud of the speed with which we have built and opened this incredible space that offers a new and uplifted experience to our players,” said Robert DeSalvio, President of Development, Genting Americas East. “Giving players and visitors what they want, as soon as possible, is priority number one for the company, and we look forward to many events like today’s in the near future.”

Within the International Room, gaming options include high-limit baccarat, roulette, and blackjack. The three private salons are available for reservations and can accommodate individual service preferences, including entertainment options such as karaoke.

Guests also have access to dedicated hosting services, beverage offerings, and round-the-clock hot and cold dining options on the gaming floor. The facilities are intended to serve customers seeking greater privacy and personalized hospitality.

The development comes as RWNYC marks 15 years of operations in Southeast Queens. Since opening in 2011, the property has expanded its gaming, dining, entertainment, and hospitality activities, attracting millions of visitors annually and contributing to the surrounding community and New York State’s economy.

“The International Room is a major milestone in the evolution of Resorts World New York City, representing another important step toward realizing our vision of a world-class integrated resort right here in Queens,” said Meghan Taylor, SVP Government Affairs and Public Relations.

“Until today, players who wanted this level of service had to leave the city to find it. Now we can offer the personal, high-touch hospitality guests expect in other destinations, which raises the bar for what’s possible in New York City. Every milestone brings us closer to delivering the full vision for Resorts World, with more reasons for visitors to come, stay longer and return.”

Nas’ participation in the unveiling also connected the latest development with the casino’s presence in Queens, where the company is seeking to expand its role as a destination for local residents and visitors.
