SIGA taps Bede Gaming to build BetSIGA online platform for spring 2027 launch

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) has chosen Bede Gaming to provide the gaming technology for BetSIGA, a new branded online gaming platform that the operator plans to launch in spring 2027. The project builds on SIGA’s existing iGaming business in the province.

SIGA selected Bede after a competitive procurement process. The two companies will work together to design, build, and launch BetSIGA, which will be accessible through a responsive website and through dedicated mobile apps for iOS and Android.

“BetSIGA is an important next step in SIGA’s long-term digital gaming strategy,” said SIGA President and CEO Zane Hansen. “This will be our own platform, built with a partner that shares our commitment to safe, responsible and engaging play, and it will continue to share success with revenue distributed to support First Nation communities and Saskatchewan.”

BetSIGA will replace PlayNow, the platform that SIGA has operated since November 2022 as the only legally recognized online gaming platform in Saskatchewan.

SIGA will migrate its current players to the new site, and the product will be customized for its player base in the province.

BetSIGA will run on open, modular technology from Bede that is designed to adapt to player expectations, regulatory requirements and SIGA’s digital strategy, according to an announcement.

The platform is also intended to support data, loyalty and personalization features over time, and these capabilities will link online play with the rest of SIGA’s gaming operations.

Safe and trusted play is central to the platform, SIGA said. BetSIGA will include identity verification, geolocation, anti-money laundering measures, security, player protection and responsible gaming controls.

“This partnership extends far beyond technology implementation. It represents a significant opportunity to combine trusted technology, deep sector expertise and true operational collaboration,” said Colin Cole-Johnson, Chief Executive Officer at Bede Gaming.

“SIGA has a clear and ambitious vision for the future of gaming in Saskatchewan, and we are proud to support the team in building a connected digital ecosystem that will deliver exceptional player experiences and sustainable long-term value.”
