The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) in Brazil has blocked more than 66,482 domains that were related to illegal gaming between January 15, 2025 and September 2, 2026. The operations of the regulator led to recovering fines of over R$18 million.
The regulator has also moved ahead with administering more than 103 administrative sanctional proceedings (PAS) starting from the January 2025. From these cases, 68 were finished, that included 56 cases with penalties at the administrative level and 12 fines that have been appealed from.
The SPA also approved 20 fines plus one fine together with a stop on operations. These penalties total the sum of R$ 8 million.
R$3 million has been received from the fines already. Additionally, R$1 million has been added to the state budget while a sum of R$ 600,000 is subject to suspended enforcement following a decision by the court.
Also, the government of the nation has received significant receipts from oversight fees that are estimated at R$105 million for the year 2025 and R$65 million from January to July 2026.
The statistics show that Brazil is increasing its efforts to distinguish the regulated betting market from the illegal one.
