The California Lottery has delivered yet another huge prize as a player in Bakersfield scooped up a seven-figure payout. The newly-minted millionaire won his prize on a $30 scratcher ticket, according to lottery officials. And, as it turns out, he is not the only one.
Two Players Won $7M Sums from the $30 Crossword Xtreme Game
According to the California Lottery’s announcement, a player by the name of Ramon Yepez has won a life-changing $7 million payout on a $30 Crossword Xtreme scratch-off ticket. Lottery officials clarified that the winning ticket was sold at the 7 Eleven located at 3698 Ming Ave in Bakersfield.
While a $7 million payout is impressive on its own, this wasn’t the only big win that was announced. Starting the autumn lottery season with a bang, the lottery also awarded a $7 million prize to a player by the name of Juan Lopez. Lopez’s prize also came from a $30 Crossword Xtreme ticket. His winning scratcher was purchased from Chevron located at 3272 Heritage Road in Chula Vista.
These were not the only big wins worth noting, however, as the $20 Instant Prize Crossword scratcher game managed to deliver several prizes. The winners included players in La Crescenta, Lathrop, North Hollywood, Stockton, and Visalia.
Californians Have Won Several Big Powerball Prizes This Year
Earlier this year, a few players in California won big prizes from the Powerball game after matching the five white numbers for some of the drawings. While such a win usually means a payout of $1 million or $2 million (depending on whether the Power Play feature is active), players in California are subject to a different ruleset where payouts depend on the number of tickets sold.
The most recent Match 5 win in California happened at the beginning of this month when a player in the state got $185,595. A previous drawing saw a $1 million payout to a player in Georgia and a Match 5 payout to a player in California.
Speaking of Powerball, the game’s jackpot just reached $409 million with a cash option of $170.2 million. This happened after the Monday drawing saw no jackpot winners. What that drawing saw, however, were four Match 5 winners, one of whom took home $2 million.
