A grand jury has indicted Thamrong Hill, a Las Vegas resident, in relation to the role he played in the death of influencer Anunya Sood at the Wynn Las Vegas. The jury indicted Hill on second-degree murder. He is to appear in court on June 18, 2026.
The Trio Were Looking for a Good Time
He is accused of selling fentanyl to the influencer, falsely claiming it was cocaine, leading to the premature death of the prominent social media figure.
Sood arrived in Las Vegas with his fiancée and a friend, and was going to attend the Las Vegas Concours d’Elegance, a luxury car show held at the Wynn between October 30 and November 2, 2025, but he overdosed on the drugs sold by Hill.
His fiancée is the one who originally bought the drugs for $40, meeting Hill near the slot machines at the Wynn Las Vegas. The trio withdrew to a hotel room to drink, when Sood took the drug powder and put it on the table, cutting it into lines and snorting some.
The two women also tried the powder, although they did not breathe it in. All three then lost consciousness, with the women waking up to find out that Sood had become unresponsive, with his lips blue and breathing labored.
They called in help answer taken to Sunrise Hospital, with police following up on the case and discovering more drugs in the trio’s possessions but unrelated to what Hill’s sold them. Police were able to later determine that the drug that Sood took was indeed cocaine.
The Indian national passed away at the hospital, with the Clark County Coroner establishing the cause of death as a drug overdose. Hill was actually arrested on separate charges and has been in custody since December 2025, when he was nabbed on larceny and drug charges.
