Florida and Pennsylvania Bust a Variety of Illegal Gambling Locations, Hauling Over $715K in Cash

Florida has announced the results of its latest attack on illegal gambling, with the state’s law enforcement successfully taking care of another venue that was hosting unauthorized operations. A total of ten people were arrested in a recent bust by authorities, and 239 slot machines were seized in the process, as confirmed by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in a release.

Officers responded to several locations that were observed and linked to the operation, with search warrants executed at five places on Tuesday, October 27. The operation spanned cross-border enforcement in both Florida and Pennsylvania, and the investigation involved the Narcotics and Economic Crimes units, the Florida Gaming Control Commission, and law enforcement partners in Pennsylvania.

Media outlets and police have released confirmation of which businesses were targeted in the operation, including The Royal on Palm Arcade and 77 Arcade in Fort Myers, King’s Paradise Arcade in North Fort Myers, Sneaky Pete’s Lucky 7 Arcade in Bonita Springs, and Spin City Arcade in Fort Myers.

Just as in the case of previous operations, police had to resort to surveillance as well as undercover agents to establish that there was indeed illegal gambling going on. Overall, the five locations yielded $715,272 in cash as well as $661,454 in gold coins and bars, with another $383,573 of bank assets frozen.

Along with this, ten vehicles were seized, including two Bentleys, a Mercedes-Benz, several Cadillacs, a 2026 Cadillac Escalade, and more. The luxury cars, along with the assets seized by the police during the raid, indicate how lucrative illegal gambling has become and why criminals continue to resort to illegal gambling in the first place.

The people arrested included Dennis Martin, Ronald Longo, Timothy Fandry, Melissa Olarte, Dijela Ivezaj, William Holman, Debra Wolovlek, Angela Vittitoe, Harold Hauck Jr., and Stamena Gacevic, as indicated by official police information.

The latest enforcement action comes after months of preparation, as confirmed by Florida Gaming Control Commission executive director Alana Zimmer.
