888AFRICA Acquisition Aligned with GiG Software’s Strategy

Q3 2026 was a pivotal moment for the company. Among other things, the period saw GiG Software secure an 80% stake in 888AFRICA, a cash-generative, fast-growing African B2C operator. This acquisition benefited GiG Software, bolstering its savings.

GiG’s CEO, Richard Carter, commented on the Q3 performance, praising the acquisition of 888AFRICA and calling it a “defining moment” for his team.

The addition of 888AFRICA marks a defining moment in the evolution of our business as we combine a leaner, more focused B2B platform business with a profitable, fast-growing B2C operator holding a market-leading position in Mozambique and operations in Angola and Tanzania.

At the same time, Carter was pleased that GiG Software’s cost programs continued to deliver, allowing the company to save millions. He said that the planned closure of Alira Spain is expected to deliver further savings and opportunities to create a leaner and more focused GiG.

Carter concluded: “I am confident that the actions we have taken this year, both to reset our cost base and to complete this transformational acquisition, leave GiG structurally stronger, better capitalized and well positioned to deliver long-term value for our shareholders, our customers and our people.”
