A lucky player in Louisiana now holds a Powerball ticket worth $2 million. The ticket in question matched five white numbers for yesterday’s drawing, securing its owner a Match 5 prize. In the meantime, the jackpot has now officially surpassed the half-a-billion-dollar mark.
Louisiana Player Scoops Up $2M
The July 15 Powerball drawing saw players vie for the $499 million jackpot. While the top prize ultimately remained unclaimed, several players’ efforts ended up rewarded with smaller prizes, including a seven-figure payout.
For reference, the winning numbers drawn on July 15 were 2, 7, 18, 29, and 38, plus the red Powerball 16. The Power Play multiplier, on the other hand, was 2x.
After matching all five white numbers, a lucky player in Louisiana secured a life-changing Match 5 prize. To top it all off, the player had the optional Power Play feature active, meaning that they are now eligible to redeem a $2 million prize rather than the usual $1 million payout.
At the same time, some 21 players proved that the battle for the jackpot is seriously heating up by matching four white numbers and the red Powerball and only narrowly missing the top prize.
