The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $385 million for tonight’s drawing after no one won it last Friday. The most recent drawing did not have many big winners, although one player managed to snatch a $50,000 payout.
The Recent Drawing Had No Match 5 Wins
The Friday Mega Millions drawing saw players vie for a $364 million jackpot. If anyone had actually managed to win, they would have been able to either claim the annuity for the full sum or the one-time lump sum of $147.3 million.
However, no one was lucky enough to match all six winning numbers for that drawing. For context, the five white numbers drawn on Friday, October 9, were 2, 7, 16, 63, and 70. The gold Mega Ball, on the other hand, was 8.
In addition to no one winning the jackpot, the Friday drawing had no Match 5 winners either, since no one managed to correctly match all five white numbers. However, several players managed to match four white numbers and the gold Mega Ball, which netted them various tier-three prizes. The biggest payout for the drawing was a $50,000 one.
Here’s a breakdown of all Match 4 + Mega Ball prizes for October 9:
- Three players won $20,000 each (2x multiplier)
- Two players won $30,000 each (3x multiplier)
- One player won $50,000 (5x multiplier)
Mega Millions Jackpot Nears $400M
As mentioned, the Mega Millions jackpot has now reached $385 million for the next drawing. If anyone manages to win, they will also be able to pick a lump sum of $154.8 million, in case the annuity is not to their liking.
The drawing is set to take place today, October 13, at 11 pm ET.
If no one manages to win the jackpot, the prize could very well exceed the $400 million mark for the Friday drawing, although it has yet to be seen whether that will happen.
In other Mega Millions news, two players recently won Match 5 prizes from the game. The wins happened on October 6, when a player in New Jersey and a player in Florida matched all five winning numbers. The former won $2 million, while the latter took home $3 million thanks to their 3x multiplier.
Earlier, a player in Wisconsin won $4 million, making them one of the state’s latest millionaires.
