A Michigan woman will be able to take that trip she has been meaning to take down to Florida after she scooped $100,000 from the Michigan Lottery’s Poker Lotto game.
Michigan Woman Readies to Take Trip to Florida After $100K Lottery Win
The prize was won on May 16, with 10 of clubs, king of hearts, ace of hearts, ace of diamonds, and king of diamonds, the lottery announced in an official release. The woman was identified as a 56-year-old resident of Washtenaw County, but details about her identity were not provided.
However, the woman did speak to the lottery and was happy to share her impressions from the win and what she intended to do with the money. In fact, even though she had won, she wasn’t sure how to check her ticket to begin with, and she had to turn to her son.
The ticket was bought at 2433 East Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti, at Early Times Liquor Store, which is also going to get a cut of the share.
“When he told me I’d won $100,000, we both started yelling and jumping up and down. Since winning, I’ve tried to stay calm because I don’t want to let money change me, but it is pretty exciting to be here claiming $100,000,” the winner told the lottery.
The money is quite welcome, as it would allow the anonymous winner to cover some bills, share it out with family, and also take that trip to Florida she has been meaning to.
“I don’t think it’s going to fully sink in that I won the lottery until I’m sitting on the beach in Florida in a few days. I’m buying my plane ticket as soon as I leave here,” the winner said.
