A Minnesota Lottery player has won a record jackpot from Lotto America, the largest in the state’s history. The player, who is still unknown, bought their ticket on Friday, July 18.
Lucky Winner to Become a Millionaire, Sets New Record
The winner is now able to claim $34.2 million from the lottery. The player can now opt for the annuity option or scoop a one-off payment at $15.15 million after all applicable witholdings, and forever inscribe their name as the largest lottery winner in the state’s history.
The Holda Station store in Coon Rapids, which sold the winning ticket, will also get a $10,000 bonus for doing just that. While the winner has not stepped forward to claim their prize, the Minnesota Lottery executive director, Adam Prock, has expressed his happiness with the event.

The lottery has issued a reminder that any large win must be claimed in person. A large win, as per the Minnesota Lottery guidelines is anything above $50,000. The lottery also advised people to start checking their tickets in case they have won but were not immediately aware of the happy development.
