The Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City is once again welcoming guests after the property reopened. Ocean Casino’s temporary shutdown was due to a small fire that happened earlier this week.
The Elements Were Not Kind to Ocean Casino
At the beginning of this week, a fire erupted at Ocean Casino Resort. While the incident was mostly contained, the casino also saw a pipe burst and damage multiple sections of the building. As a result, the casino had to temporary halt its operations.
On Monday, shortly after the incident, Ocean Casino Resort ceased all gaming offer, shutting down its slots, gaming tables, and sportsbook. This also caused a $30,000 slot tournament to be suspended.
Luckily, the casino managed to reopen as soon as Tuesday. In an official statement, the property confirmed that players can once again enjoy betting, although it noted that Avila lounge will remain temporarily relocated.
As of today Tuesday, July 28, Ocean Casino Resort has resumed all gaming operations, including slots, tables games and sports betting. Note that Avila will remain relocated to TopGolf for today’s service. Ocean thanks its dedicated team members, partners, and the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement for their swift response to restore operations.

Shooter Arrested After Targeting Ocean Casino Patron
Last year, the Ocean Casino in Atlantic City became the site of a chilling shooting. A patron at the property fired multiple shots into a 41-year-old patron. Luckily, the evildoer was promptly arrested. As it turned out, the gun used for the crime was stolen.
To top it all off, this wasn’t the perpetrator’s first gun-related crime either, meaning that he was much more likely to receive a harsher sentence.
