Pennsylvania Player Scoops Up a $3M Mega Millions Prize

A very lucky player in Pennsylvania has won a life-changing prize from the Mega Millions game. While the $3 million they secured is a far cry from the jackpot, which is standing at over half a billion dollars, it is still more than enough to turn one’s life around.

Lucky Pennsylvanian Won $3M from the Friday Drawing

The most recent Mega Millions drawing took place on Friday, July 3. At the time of the drawing, the game’s jackpot stood at a jaw-dropping $525 million with a cash option of $242 million. While winning the top prize would have been a dream-come-true for anyone, only one player came close.

The winning Mega Millions numbers drawn on July 3 were 5, 9, 29, 47, and 57, plus the gold Mega Ball 16.

The top prize for the drawing was claimed by a player in Pennsylvania who matched the five white numbers but not the Mega Ball. As a result, the player won a Match 5 prize of $3 million thanks to their 3x multiplier.

In the meantime, five others won smaller sums after matching four white numbers and the gold Mega Ball. Two of these players secured prizes of $20,000 each, another two won $30,000 each, and a single one took home $50,000.

In the meantime, the Mega Million jackpot reached $576 million for the next drawing. A winner would be able to either take the annuity option for the full sum or go for the one-time lump sum option of $253.9 million.

The next drawing is set to take place on Tuesday, July 7, at 11 pm ET.

A Third Mega Millions Jackpot for 2026 Has Yet to Come

The Mega Millions jackpot has been won two times this year, with both wins taking place within a few days of one another. One of these wins saw a lucky player win $536 million and the other saw a lucky lottery enthusiast take home $60 million.

As the jackpot continues to grow, the game continues to intensify. At the same time, with one more weekly drawing, the Powerball jackpot could potentially catch up to the Mega Millions one. For reference, the former prize is currently standing at $416 million after no one won it last Saturday.
