Casino and hospitality company Resorts World unveiled $250,000 in funding for nonprofit organizations across the state of New York. The grants are a part of the operator’s RW Gives program.
A Day of Giving
The new grants came as part of Resorts World’s Independence Day celebrations marking America’s 250th Anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, the RW Gives program had vowed to distribute $250,000 to 25 charity organizations across the Empire State.
The program was announced earlier this year, with the application period running from June 15 to June 29. According to Resorts World, some 400 nonprofits across the state applied. The winners were selected by random drawing. The company confirmed that there will be 15 winners in New York City, 5 in the Hudson Valley, and 5 in the Catskills.
Resorts World is set to host the drawing and confirm the 25 recipients of the donations today. Each one of them will receive $10,000 to support their work.
The donations are set to be distributed at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello.
