Rwanda suspends Forzza Gaming over licence breaches

The Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the agency in charge of gambling regulation in Rwanda, has ordered Forzza Gaming to cease operations immediately after the agency discovered that the operator had repeatedly provided casino-type games despite its licensing limits.

The sportsbook operator, controlled by Baron Sports Gaming Ltd., has been instructed to cease running all games at least until further notice along with the cessation of advertising and marketing activities.

The RDB has also advised the public against using the operator’s services during the designated stopping period.

According to the regulator, the licensed operators should follow the rules set by their respective licenses or risk being subject to penalties including the possibility of being suspended from operations or losing their licenses altogether.

Forzza will also be penalized in case it continues its operations during the suspension period.

This happened shortly after Rwanda resumed licensing gambling activities, having issued the licenses to Betway, ElephantBet and ForteBet after a delay of one year. The RDB has also introduced the new Rwanda Gambling Policy that is aimed at improving regulatory oversight, promoting compliance and ensuring sustainable growth of the gambling sector in Rwanda.
