SC Lottery Player Scoops Up $250K
The SC Lottery confirmed that the player in question won $250,000 on one of the lottery’s scratch-off games. According to reports, the winner described his reaction to the win as a stun. At first, the player couldn’t believe his luck, so he went to the counter, asking the clerk to scan the ticket just to make sure whether he had truly won a six-figure sum.
For reference, the winning ticket was sold at Spinx #192 in Greer. The store will receive a bonus of $2,500 for the sale.
After the win became apparent and the idea sank in, the man traveled to the SC Lottery’s Claims Center in Columbia to redeem the prize. In an interview with lottery officials, he said that the win was “an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime thing.”
For reference, the $250,000 payout came from a $5 Giant Jumbo Bucks scratch-off ticket.
After the win, a new Giant Jumbo Bucks game with six top prizes of $250,000 was launched. As of the time of this writing, none of these has been won. The odds of winning any prize, including break-evens, are 1 in 3.97. The odds of winning the top prize, on the other hand, are 1 in 960,000.
