On October 9, Swedish gambling regulator, Spelinspektionen sent a warning to the Sportalliansen and a fine of over €13,380.
In February 2026, the Swedish Gambling Authority initiated a supervisory review of Sportalliansen Sverige to verify the association’s compliance with the provisions of Chapter 16, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the Gambling Act (2018:1138). The regulator found deficiencies in the information provided on the organisation’s physical lottery tickets.
The regulator published on its official website:
The Swedish Gambling Authority’s inspection reveals deficiencies in the information on physical lottery tickets. Sportalliansen Sverige is therefore given a warning and a sanction fee.
Spelinspektionen started overseeing license holders with land-based raffle games in February 2026. The assessment included lotteries that offered rewards worth more than 1 basic amount. Sportalliansen Sverige failed to fulfill the disclosure requirements for the land-based lottery tickets. Therefore, the Gambling Authority imposed a fine in addition to the warning made.
The amount of the fine is EUR 13,380. The size of the penalty fee is decided taking into account the seriousness of the violation and how long it has been going on.
The regulator’s aim is to make sure that lotteries, casinos and various other gambling activities in Sweden operate according to the law.
