The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has disclosed the details of Evolution’s £4.75 million settlement, as a result of a licensing review.
During the licencing review process, the B2B and live casino provider was found to have games available on six unlicensed gambling sites that are accessible to UK customers.
According to the regulator, the sites, operated by two unidentified firms, provided access to Evolution’s games without a valid UK license between December 2023 and November 2024.
The UKGC further detected loopholes in Evolution’s anti-money laundering (AML), stating that the company’s risk assessment was outdated and had not detected the risk of games being brought to market by unlicensed operators. It claims that the supplier also failed to comply with customer due diligence standards and provide effective policies and procedures to prevent such occurrences.
Evolution confessed to breaking the licensing regulations and agreed to hire an independent reviewer to check its AML policies in accordance with the settlement terms.
The Commission indicated that it had thought about suspending Evolution’s UK license but decided against it due to the cooperation of the company and measures it took to correct the situation.
