Wildz becomes the first online gambling operator to receive a licence from Finland’s newly regulated market.
Wildz CEO Sam Brown said:
Receiving the amazing news of being the first operator to receive a licence in Finland is a welcome reward for all the efforts of the team in the application process.
Wildz Group has been awarded authorisation for five years from 1 July 2027 from Finland’s National Police Board (NPB). With this move, Finland’s closer to launch its regulated market.
Sam Brown added:
We’re excited about this milestone and what it represents for the future of Wildz Group. We believe that our brands will offer players in Finland a safe and engaging entertainment product for many years to come. We’re looking forward to July 2027.
According to reports from last month, Finland has approved almost 75 licenses, which is an increase from 50 in June.
Some of the international operators in the fray are Betsson and MGM Resorts-controlled LeoVegas, as well as the Swedish-Finnish trotting association joint venture Hippos ATG Oy.
The regulator has been continuously discouraging the operation of companies advertising illegally in the market and has imposed a $1.2 million fine on MagicPoro for such violations, which the company has disputed.
Autoplay is expected to be banned in the market, which will also impose 15-minute reminders for responsible gaming and state that players must not invest more than €20 in slots, which is reduced to €10 for people under the age of 25.
