2026 WSOP Day 34: Can Anyone Stop The Grinder?

Michael Mizrachi

There is a familiar face in pole position for another bracelet at the 2026 World Series of Poker, and it’s reigning WSOP Main Event champion Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi.

Mizrachi sits with an overwhelming chip lead three-handed in the $10,000 PLO Championship, but there is plenty of other exciting action in progress across Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas.

Congratulations are already in order for Skye Chen, who took down the $1,000 Ladies Championship earlier today, while Daniel Negreanu and Naoya Kihara are well-placed to add to their own bracelet tallies in the $1,500 8-Game and $2,500 Big Bet Mix respectively.

PokerNews has all the action covered from Day 33 of the WSOP, so read on for the latest updates.

Michael Mizrachi Bags Enormous Chip Lead in $10k PLO Championship

Michael Mizrachi

Of the 37 players who began Day 3 in Event #70: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, just three will return for Day 4 on Monday.

Reigning Main Event champion Michael Mizrachi, who bagged a commanding chip lead on both Day 1 and Day 2, did exactly the same on Day 3 after another dominating performance.

He tussled with Jesse Lonis throughout the day, with the pair eventually colliding in what proved to be the biggest pot of the tournament thus far.

Mizrachi would be responsible for four of the last five eliminations, including Lonis, and sits with 80% of the chips in play three-handed, having locked up at least $627,832.

Naoya Kihara Eyes Third Bracelet of Series in $2,500 Mixed Big Bet

Naoya Kihara

Japan’s incredible 2026 World Series of Poker continues to gather pace, and once again it’s Naoya Kihara leading the charge.

The 99 returning players were trimmed to just 13 after ten levels of play, with all 13 remaining players guaranteed at least $9,456.

Daniel Negreanu
