Faraz Jaka Takes the Hot Seat in Poker Coaching Series

Faraz Jaka

Even the best poker players have room to improve, and Faraz Jaka isn’t afraid to put his own game under the microscope.

Faraz Jaka, the longtime poker pro and founder of JAKAcoaching is taking a different approach to poker education withPros in the Hot Seat, a monthly strategy series that sees Jaka trade his usual coaching role for the student’s chair.

Instead of teaching the lesson himself, Jaka invites some of poker’s top minds to review his hands, challenge his decisions, and identify areas for improvement. JAKAcoaching members get a front-row seat to the process, gaining insight into how experienced professionals approach difficult decisions.

Poker’s Top Minds Put Jaka to the Test

Each month, Jaka sits down with a different expert to review hands from his own play, whether it’s a tough spot from a high-stakes tournament or a potential leak in his online game.

Some sessions focus on specific decisions Jaka wants to revisit, while others allow coaches to identify mistakes and patterns he may have overlooked.

Members hear Jaka explain his thought process, watch experts challenge his reasoning, and see how both players work toward finding a better approach.

The lessons are interactive, with members able to answer quizzes, ask questions, and participate in live discussions. Each session is also recorded and added to the JAKAcoaching library.

Learn From WSOP Champions and Heads-Up Specialists

The series features a rotating lineup of coaches with expertise across different tournament formats and stakes.

Among the featured sessions is Faraz Jaka’s Tough Spots from WSOP 2026, where high-stakes specialist Thomas Boivin reviews difficult decisions Jaka faced against some of poker’s toughest competition.

Four-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Michael Gathy also joins the series to review Jaka’s online tournament hands, identifying potential mistakes and opportunities for improvement.

Another lesson, Heads-Up Strategy with Kevin Rabichow, focuses on the adjustments needed when battling for a tournament title. Rabichow is an accomplished heads-up specialist and Triton strategy commentator.

Other featured coaches include Scott Baumstein, who reviews Jaka’s low- and mid-stakes tournament hands from Hard Rock events, and online tournament specialist Jeremy “Soappalled” Menard.

Finding Time to Improve Away From the Tables

For Jaka, the series also reflects how his relationship with poker has changed. After spending much of his 20s and early 30s playing professionally, Jaka now balances poker with running a business and raising three children.

While he still wants to compete at a high level, finding time to study has become increasingly important.
That challenge helped shape Pros in the Hot Seat, allowing Jaka to work directly with trusted experts and focus on adjustments that can make the biggest difference.

It’s a situation many recreational and part-time players can relate to, particularly those balancing poker with careers and families.

JAKAcoaching Members Get Their Turn in the Spotlight

The learning opportunities aren’t limited to watching Jaka’s hands get analyzed. JAKAcoaching also offers a monthly Member Spotlight, giving players who have made deep runs in low- or mid-stakes tournaments the opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching from Jaka or another expert.

Fellow members can follow along as the featured player reviews key hands, explains their decisions, and discusses the challenges they faced.

The series highlights players from a variety of backgrounds, including doctors, teachers, lawyers, real estate agents, recreational players, and aspiring professionals.

Take Your Poker Game to the Next Level

Beyond Pros in the Hot Seat, JAKAcoaching offers lessons covering different stakes, formats, and skill levels.

That includes situations commonly encountered in lower-stakes tournaments, where opponents may play unpredictably, refuse to fold, or create difficult multiway pots.

With live coaching sessions, interactive quizzes, expert analysis, and a library of recorded lessons, members can study at their own pace and apply what they learn at the tables.
