Global Poker Celebrity Challenge With NBA’s Karl-Anthony Towns Kicks Off Oct. 3

The Global Poker Celebrity Challenge kicked off with the Paul George Celebrity Campaign, and players will soon have a chance to play against another NBA star.

The Karl-Anthony Towns Celebrity Campaign will run Oct. 3-15 and will feature a series of Sweeps Coin qualifiers where Global Poker players can have a chance to play with KAT.

Additionally, Towns will challenge Olympic titan Michael Phelps to a heads-up poker battle where the victor will donate $10,000 to a charity of their choice.

Challenge KAT On The Felt

While Towns has had experience playing with his fellow NBA star, he said he was especially excited to take on the 28-time Olympic medalist.

“Besides being able to spend time with good friends, poker is a competitive game that gives you an adrenaline rush much like basketball,” Towns said in a press release. “With poker you must make quick decisions and always be aware of everything that is happening around the table.”

Towns added that “Global Poker allows me to play poker during my down time, (particularly) when I’m on the road.”

There will be a total of eight Karl-Anthony Towns Sweeps Coin Qualifiers where players can compete for exclusive Global Poker swag signed by Towns, as well as for a spot in the Karl-Anthony Towns Celebrity Challenge Final on Oct. 11.

Those players will compete against each other and Towns for a chance to play against Towns, George, Phelps and DJ Khaled in the Global Poker Celebrity Challenge Grand Final in November.
