Phil Ivey Runs Into Aces in Wild Four-Way All In Deep in High Roller

One of the wildest hands we are likely to see at Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju II took place today, one that saw poker legend Phil Ivey busting a nearly 40-big-blind stack a few spots off the final table after running into aces. But he wasn’t the only one, as the four-way all in also saw high-stakes pros Seth Davies and Samuel Mullur hitting the rail.

The hand took place in the $40,000 NLH Mystery Bounty with 11 players remaining. The fourth player in the hand was Malaysia’s Wai Kiat Lee, and he’s the only one who lived to tell the tale.

Mullur, Davies and Ivey Run Into Aces

With blinds of 40,000/80,000/80,000, Davies, an American pro and content creator, jammed a short stack of 205,000 from under the gun as Mullur, eager to claim Davies’ bounty, re-jammed for 2,120,000. Ivey also had bounties on the brain and flicked in a call on the button off of his stack of 3,020,000.

But there was bad news on the way as Lee snap-jammed in the big blind with Ivey covered, leading the poker legend to call off with his remaining 900,000.

It was bad news for all three players at risk. Not only had they run into aces, but they blocked each others outs to all be drawing practically dead to chops, with Davies having the worst of it.

“Has anyone ever gotten it in so cleanly?” a perplexed Leon Sturm asked from the commentary booth.

A dream scenario in the big blind for Lee, but he still needed a clean runout. The 7♣8♠7♥Q♠2♠ did that nicely for him, and the three-time Triton champion raked in over half the total chips in play, as well as three bounty envelopes potentially worth hundreds of thousands.

Meanwhile, his three high-stakes compatriots were sent packing to make way for the final table.

Ivey had the biggest stack of the three, so received a ninth-place payout of $62,000.

While this hand might take the cake, there have been plenty of wild hands at the Triton festival on South Korea’s Jeju Island.

Last night, Wiktor “Limitless” Malinowski sucked out against Ossi “Monarch” Ketola to win a $1.8 million pot just minutes into their heads-up match, though Ketola’s fortunes turned during subsequent rematches.
