RakeRoom Gives Away $5k Caribbean Package at Las Vegas Charity Poker Tournament

This summer’s Peak Humanity Charity Gala poker tournament in Las Vegas drew an array of high-stakes poker players and produced a big winner in content creator Nicholas “On Tilt Nick” Splawn, who topped the stacked field to win the trophy and a big pile of cash. But that wasn’t the only prize awarded during the night of charity poker action.

As part of the night’s fundraising efforts, RakeRoom, a sponsor of the charity event on the rooftop of Palms Las Vegas, held a drawing for a $5,000 Caribbean Escape package as part of the festivities. That means a yet-to-be picked winner will receive a five night’s stay and travel credit for a Caribbean adventure.

Six Figures Raised for Charity

High-stakes poker players are used to big numbers, and June’s charity event, hosted by poker personalities Henry Kilbane and Joey Ingram, certainly delivered on that front. The $2,500 buy-in event produced over $80,000 in prize money, while fundraising efforts raised more than $150,000.

The event benefited various international charities, including Peak Humanity, MG52, the Thai Poker Sports Association (TPSA), Space 2.0, and Nation’s Cry, to raise money for “children’s education, welfare, and community projects across Tanzania, Thailand, Malaysia, and Las Vegas.”

There were no shortage of notable attendees, including poker legend Gus Hansen, content creators Nikki Limo and Ethan “Rampage” Yau, and high-stakes pros like Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Seth Davies, Kevin Rabichow, Manig Loeser, Santhosh Suvarna and reigning GPI Player of the Year Punnat Punsri.

RakeRoom, a platform that connects poker players to casinos and hotels and offers discounted accommodation, awarded a $5,000 package that includes five nights at a five-star hotel in St. Maarten and an additional $1,500 travel credit for flights.

After the drawing takes place, the lucky winner will be all set for a week of sun in the Bahamas.
