September is a busy and exciting month for the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS), and the poker action next month includes a stop to Tunica, one of the top poker destinations in the U.S.
The Mississippi Poker Championship starts Sept. 15, and it runs through Sept. 20. PokerNews will be in the house providing live reporting coverage of the Main Event beginning Sept. 18 at the Horseshoe Casino Tunica.
in total, there are nine trophy events over six days on the schedule, with more than $100,000 in guarantees.
Schedule Highlights
Poker players, depending on age, will have a couple of opportunities to win a trophy on the first day of the series (Sept. 15), starting with the $250 Seniors Championship, a No-Limit Hold’em tournament for those aged 50 and above. Later in the day is the $150 Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em Championship, which comes with a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool.
A bit of Pot-Limit Omaha — $250 buy-in — takes place the following day, as does the $150 Big Bounty Championship. A $250 Ladies Championship runs on Sept. 19 with $5,000 guaranteed. There is a $65 satellite into the ladies event a day prior.
The main highlight of this series is the $400 Mississippi State No-Limit Hold’em Championship, a tournament covered by PokerNews in its entirety. There are four Day 1 starting flights to choose from and $50,000 guaranteed. We’ll give players and fans some exclusive coverage with daily recaps and live hand reports until a champion is crowned on Sept. 20 at the Horseshoe.
The final day of the series will also have a $250 Turbo No-Limit Hold’em Championship with $10,000 guaranteed to close things out from Tunica.
