Vlad Darie Enjoys a $50K Sunday Online at PokerStars; Spraggy Takes One Down

Romanian star Vlad “dariepoker” Darie has ended November with a near $50,000 haul thanks to two impressive performances in PokerStars tournaments on November 26. Darie ended October by chopping the PokerStars European Poker Tour Cyprus $5,150 No-Limit Hold’em 6-handed for $104,158, and signed November off in style with a third-place finish in the $1,050 Sunday Warm-Up, and victory in the $530 Bounty Builder High Roller.

Darie’s third-place finish yielded an $8,068 score, with his outright victory padding his bankroll to the tune of $41,478 with bounties included. Here is how that Darie victory took shape.

The November 26 edition of the $530 Bounty Builder High Roller drew in 482 entrants, who fought tooth and nail for the largest slice of the $250,000 prize pool. Dozens of top-tier grinders made it into the top 63 places, where the main prize pool was awarded. The likes of Neymar “Neymar-jr”Jr., Matas “bebaimis777” Cimbolas, Robin “Robinho” Ylitalo, and Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi cashed but fell shy of the final table.

Maltese grinder “OneMoreT1m3_” reached their second final table of the night, having earlier finished second in the $109 Sunday Warm-Up, a finish worth $13,455. They busted in ninth in this event for an additional $5,006, including bounties.

Germany’s “HardiZ1” crashed out in eighth for $5,985 before “filusPL” was eliminated in seventh for $5,342; the talented Polish star had earlier finished second in the $215 Sunday Supersonic for $8,433.

Austria-based Dutchman Daan “DaanOss” Mulders fell in sixth for $7,076, with Marton “noirduck” Czuczor busting in fifth for a $7,526 addition to his bankroll.

Each of the surviving four players locked in a five-figure score for their efforts, and “Pharmatrader” was the first of that quartet to reel in one of those prizes. With bounties included, fourth place came with a $12,208 payday.

The $530 Bounty Builder High Roller progressed to the heads-up stage when “flerrehuve” bowed out in third for $16,868, leaving “gigibaston” and Darie to fight it out in the final battle. Darie eliminated his fellow countryman in the one-on-one battle, resigning “gigibaston” to a $32,024 prize, while capturing a $41,478 payout for himself.

“Haringbuis” Outlasts Host of Stars on Way to $86K Payout

The $5,200 Titans Event at PokerStars is always a star-studded affair, primarily because of its large buy-in. This weekend’s Titans Event attracted some of the biggest names in the online poker world; take a look at how stacked the nine-handed final table was.

Rodrigo “seijistar” Seiji Sirichuk‘s demise in ninth earned the Brazilian $9,976 and made the waters slightly less shark-infested. Jans” Graftekkel” Arends and Adrian “Amadi_017” Mateos then ran out of steam, and walked away with $11,421 and $15,249, respectively.

Estonia’s “DingeBrinker” found themselves void of chips, their deep run ending in a fifth-place finish worth $20,359 before Michael “imluckbox” Addamo ran out of luck, busting in fifth for $27,182.

Juan “Malaka$tyle” Pardo, the fifth-place finisher in the $1,050 Sunday Warm-Up High Roller for $4,189, scooped a $36,292 prize for his fourth-place exit in this event. The elimination of Alexandros “Pwndidi” Theologis sent the Titans Event into heads-up and Theologis to the virtual cashier desk to collect $48,454.

Heads-up pitted “DavyJones922” against “Haringbuis” in a battle were the difference in prize money was almost $22,000. A lack of a deal meant “DavyJones922” secured a $64,691 consolation prize when they fell at the hands of “Haringbuis,” the Titans Event champion. First place came with an $86,371 score, the largest awarded at PokerStars this weekend.

Also at PokerStars, there was a welcomed victory for ambassador Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg, who triumphed in the $109 Sunday Kickoff for $10,327. The best of the rest was Joris “BillLewinsky” Ruijs‘ win in the $1,050 Sunday High Roller, which came with $32,555 reasons to be happy.

“Machado de Ax” Triumphs in the PartyPoker Big Sunday

The Big Sunday is one of PartyPoker’s newest additions to its Sunday tournament schedule, and it is already proving popular. Costing $215 to enter and guaranteeing $25,000 pitches it at the top end of PartyPoker’s high-stakes offering.

This week saw 176 players create a guarantee-busting $35,410 prize pool that the top 31 finishers shared. All but one of the nine finalists saw that $215 investment swell to four figures.

“TightGrandpa68” finished in ninth for $863, with “Taitopelaaja76” and “Keys3rSoze” busting in eighth and seventh for scores weighing in at $1,004 and $1,180, respectively. The prizes continued increasing with each eliminated player. “Nitemare53” saw $1,407 land in their PartyPoker account, “Atuth” scooped $1,709, and “Mr. Pigeon” flew away with $2,276.

Third place and $3,323 went to “Belieber,” leaving “Machado de Ax” heads-up against “Brener Vicente.” $4,752 was the least money either of the heads-up duo could win, and the prize now in the PartyPoker account of “Belieber.” The champion, “Machado de Ax” secured a $6,760 prize.

“LeVieux4” Takes Down the Super $55

A bumper crowd of 857 players each paid $55 to enter the Super $55, resulting in PartyPoker paying out $42,850; that beat the guarantee by $2,850. “LeVieux4” was the main beneficiary of the juicy prize pool because they were the last player standing, and the recipient of the champion title. The victory came with $2,594 for finishing in first place, plus an additional $4,023 worth of bounty payments, making for a total score worth $6,617.

The champion eliminated an impressive number of opponents on their way to the top, 16 to be exact. One of those scalps belonged to runner-up “I Like You”, who saw $3,099 top up their account balance.

The Super $55 is one of PartyPoker’s Daily Legends, which PokerNews wrote about last week. This event took around eight hours to finish, concluding at 1:26 a.m. GMT, meaning even the champion will have managed to get a decent night’s sleep, if they could drop off after the excitement of banking $6,617!
