Michigan’s online gaming industry continued its growth trajectory in July, with internet casino and online sports betting operators reporting combined gross receipts of $346.13 million. The latest figures also marked a significant milestone for the state’s online casino sector, which has now generated more than $12 billion in lifetime revenue since launching in early 2021.
According to data released by the Michigan Gaming Control Board, the state’s commercial and tribal operators recorded a 1.4% increase in combined gross receipts compared with June 2026. Internet casino gaming remained the dominant contributor, producing $302.77 million in gross receipts during the month, while online sports betting generated $43.36 million.
Adjusted gross receipts (AGR), which serve as the basis for taxation and regulatory reporting, reached $321.42 million. Of that total, iGaming accounted for $290.65 million and online sports betting contributed $30.77 million.
The online casino segment maintained its steady expansion. Compared with July 2025, iGaming AGR rose by 23.6%. Sports betting AGR increased by 28.8% year over year. On a monthly basis, iGaming AGR improved by 0.5%, while online sports betting AGR surged 52.7% from June.
Online Casino Industry Surpasses $12 Billion Milestone
July’s results pushed Michigan’s cumulative online casino revenue above the $12 billion mark. Since legal online casino gaming launched in January 2021, operators have generated $12.26 billion in revenue across the state.
The industry has also become a major source of public funding. Lifetime tax contributions linked to online casino operations have reached approximately $3.18 billion.
July revenue of $302.8 million represented a 20.9% increase from the $250.5 million recorded during the same month last year. The result extended a streak of strong monthly performances for the state’s online casino market, which has now exceeded $300 million in monthly revenue for five consecutive months.
Through the first seven months of 2026, Michigan’s online casino operators have generated $2.11 billion in revenue. During the same period in 2025, revenue totaled roughly $1.72 billion. The year-to-date increase of 22.3% places the market nearly $385 million ahead of last year’s pace.
Michigan established an annual online casino revenue record in 2025 with $3.09 billion. Based on current performance, 2026 is on track to surpass that figure.
FanDuel Retains Lead Among Operators
FanDuel remained the largest online casino operator in Michigan during July, posting revenue of $74.58 million. The company improved its performance by 18.2% compared with July 2025.
BetMGM followed with $63.14 million, while DraftKings reported $43.13 million. BetRivers generated $22.39 million during the month.
Several operators posted notable year-over-year gains. Fanatics increased revenue by 54.6% to $19.02 million, while FireKeepers nearly doubled its revenue with a 93.7% increase, reaching $3.97 million. bet365 reported one of the largest percentage increases, generating $8.84 million compared with revenue attributed to PokerStars a year earlier.
Hard Rock Bet recorded $21.66 million in July revenue. Caesars Palace generated $16.10 million, while Golden Nugget and Hollywood Casino each reported revenue exceeding $8 million.
Among smaller operators, BetParx posted $4.44 million, Eagle Casino generated $4.04 million, Horseshoe reported $2.76 million and Four Winds recorded $1.98 million.
Tax Contributions Remain Significant
Michigan operators submitted $63.3 million in taxes and payments to the state during July. Internet gaming generated the vast majority of those payments, contributing $61.2 million. Online sports betting added another $2.1 million.
The City of Detroit also benefited from the market’s performance. The three Detroit casinos paid a combined $14.09 million in wagering taxes and municipal service fees. Internet gaming accounted for $13.5 million of that amount, while online sports betting generated approximately $591,247.
Tribal operators reported an additional $8.4 million in payments to their governing bodies during the month.
Despite the revenue growth, sports betting activity measured by handle declined slightly. Online sportsbooks accepted $355.2 million in wagers during July, representing a 3% decrease from June.
As of July 2026, Michigan had authorized 15 commercial and tribal operators to offer online gaming services. All 15 operators provide iGaming products, while 13 also operate online sports betting platforms.
