In this article, 1xBet highlights its 12-month partnership with Gowran Park, including race sponsorships and support for safer gambling initiatives as part of its wider commitment to Irish racing.
On October 2, a seven-race card gets underway at Gowran Park, with the 1xBet.ie Ireland-sponsored 1xBet.ie Supports Safer Gambling as the main event of the day.
Gowran Park is located in County Kilkenny, just a 15-minute drive from Kilkenny City. The racecourse opened on June 16, 1914, and has held Grade 1 status for National Hunt racing since 2006, based on prize-money levels. The venue hosts both Flat racing and National Hunt meetings, while in January it stages The Goffs Thyestes Chase, with a prize pool of €100,000. The modern grandstand complex was opened in 2003 following a €3.5 million redevelopment.
12-month partnership with Gowran Park
The October meeting is part of a 12-month partnership between 1xBet Ireland and Gowran Park. Under the agreement, 1xBet.ie is sponsoring 15 races across both Flat and National Hunt racing, providing year-round support for the racecourse.
The partnership also extends beyond race sponsorship. 1xBet.ie is also sponsoring Gowran Park’s Owners’ Lounge and Stable Yard Canteen, supporting the facilities used by owners, trainers, stable staff and other racing professionals. The agreement follows 1xBet Ireland’s existing sponsorship partnerships with Punchestown and The Curragh and forms part of the brand’s wider commitment to Irish racing.
Race features
The 1xBet.ie Supports Safer Gambling is the third event on the card and forms part of a National Hunt meeting. It is a handicap hurdle race run over 2 miles and 80 yards. In a handicap, a horse’s weight is set by its rating, with stronger runners carrying extra weight to level the playing field. Horses aged three and over are eligible to compete.
The race has a prize fund of €12,000, with the first six finishers receiving: €7,200 for the winner, €2,400 for second, €1,200 for third, €600 for fourth, €360 for fifth, and €240 for sixth. The field has not yet been announced, and the favourites will be known closer to race day.
It’s just the beginning
Gowran Park will be the first stop on 1xBet.ie’s packed October calendar. The series will then move to The Curragh, where several more sponsored races will take place before the month ends. We will cover each of them.
The 1xBet.ie Supports Safer Gambling at Gowran Park on October 2 marks a new chapter for 1xBet.ie in its support of Irish sport.
