Arizona allocates nine limited sports wagering licenses to local venues

Nine Arizona locations have been approved to offer in-person event wagering under limited event wagering operator licenses allocated by the Arizona Department of Gaming, effective September 11.

The approved locations are Turf Paradise Racetrack at 1501 West Bell Road in Phoenix; Boston’s Bar & Grille at 1730 East Elliot Road in Tempe; Connolly’s Sports Grill at 2605 West Carefree Highway in Phoenix; Harold’s Cave Creek Corral at 6895 East Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek; Red Zone Sports Grill at 8110 West Union Hills Drive in Glendale; R.T. O’Sullivans at 7575 North 16th Street in Phoenix; R.T. O’Sullivans at 6646 East Superstitions Springs Boulevard in Mesa; The Nest North Sports Grill at 5843 West Thunderbird Road in Glendale; and Trophy Bar at 2551 West Queen Creek Road in Chandler.

Limited event wagering licenses permit an event wagering operator to provide retail sports wagering in partnership with a racetrack or an additional wagering facility, commonly known as an off-track betting location, that holds a permit issued by the Division of Racing.

The department allocated the nine licenses to local businesses in partnership with American Wagering, Inc. dba Caesars Sportsbook and Skyfall 7 LLC dba Turf Paradise. The Arizona Department of Gaming said it will work with the licensees on the next steps toward their operational launch.

In July, Arizona said, it will begin accepting applications on August 13 for up to 10 limited event wagering operator licenses for retail sports betting in partnership with a racetrack or off-track facility.
